The works of Netherlands-based fine art photographer Gabriele Viertel are mainly created underwater. Viertel’s use of water creates a thought provoking mood and skilfully chiaroscuro lighting leads to a dramatical surrealistic visual narrative.

The photographs of the versatile artist are a tightrope between the world of human vulnerability, beauty and fashion, and performing arts. Selected works are currently exhibited at Fort Wayne Museum of Art, Indiana USA.

The biennial exhibition “The Nation: Best of Contemporary Photography 2015″ will be open until January 3rd, 2016
