Get ready nerds, because 2016 is going to be your year.

After a bit of a drought year, the geeky goblet will runneth over with comic book movies in 2016. Marvel Studios will be kicking off its highly anticipated “Phase 3,” DC and Warner Bros. will be setting up the DC Extended Universe, and even Fox has a few tricks up its sleeve.Yes, 2016 is going to be quite the year. New heroes will make their big screen debuts, old favorites will return, icons will go toe to toe and even the villains are getting in on the action.Because most of the films set for release have already wrapped on production, audiences have already had at least a peek at what they can expect to see up on the silver screen.

This year’s comic con was a veritable treasure trove of teasers and trailers, and with the holidays well underway, theaters are using current blockbusters to give next year’s titles a boost. From what we’ve seen so far, everything looks pretty amazing.
