Arya Stark ending up with Gendry was expected by Game of Thrones fans since their first encounter in King’s Landing slum of Flea Bottom. Gendry defended her from bullies as they journeyed and knew that she wasn’t a boy named Arry.

And Robert Baratheon telling Ned Stark “I have a son. You have a daughter. We’ll join our houses.” He meant for Sansa and Joffrey to get married but we knew that Joffrey is a Lannister so this only became real when Gendry met Arya.

Everyone went wild after seeing little Arya Stark becoming a real woman and taking the lead. Some fans were happy for Arya and loved seeing her explore her sexuality. While others had hard time dealing with this because they still see her as Jon’s little sister from Season 1.

Williams first thought that her scene is a prank when she first read her script. “At first, I thought it was a prank,” she told Entertainment Weekly. “I was like, ‘Yo, good one.’ And [the showrunners were] like, ‘No, we haven’t done that this year.’ Oh f—k!”

In the end, Maisie was glad that her character gets to experience something new and show a new side of her. And as an actress, Maisie once said that it would be nice to change how the fans see her in the future and not be stuck as little Arya forever.

But the most embarassing thing for her was that her whole family probably watched it too.
